United Way Yukon’s work is never finished. However it’s a great feeling to take a moment and celebrate that Yukoners’ contributions have exceeded our most recent campaign goal.
Thank you all!
This year’s fall campaign began with one of our best-ever annual breakfasts and silent auctions, and with October being declared United Way Month with the United Way flag raised before the legislative assembly.
However COVID-19 protocols continued to limit what was possible, meaning we had to forgo events like the plane pull and saw silent auctions move entirely online.
Jamie Boyd, Executive Director of United Way Yukon says an $85,000 goal was a conservative goal compared to previous years’ campaigns.
That call for support was met in full which is encouraging.
“This year we set a lower target not knowing how it would go, but the generosity of Yukoners exceeded our expectations,” he said.
While we celebrate this achievement we know the need in Yukon communities is still great.
All money raised goes to support Yukon non-profits to deliver programs for vulnerable Yukoners, so please keep giving.
To all who gave their time and volunteer effort, to all the sponsors, to everyone who pitched in and bid on silent auction items: Thank you for making out 2021 campaign one to remember.
